Rehearsals

Rehearsals currently take place at Lordswood Girls School, Knightlow Road, Harborne B17 8QB Click here for map every Wednesday during term time.

Rehearsals are from 7.15 to 9.30, with a 15 minute coffee break. Our MD, Patrick Larley, provides advice on singing technique throughout, and choir members are encouraged to ask if they would like parts repeated or explained more fully. We are fortunate to have a professional accompanist, Kevin Gill.

Rehearsals are essential for getting to know the works well, and reaching a high performance standard. For this reason, singers who wish to sing in the concert must not miss more than three rehearsals. All singers are re-auditioned every 3 years to ensure that our high standards are maintained.

Information about music for rehearsals

Subscriptions (2013 – 2014 season): £120 a year (3 terms), or £84 for unwaged singers (easy payment schemes available). This covers the cost of our MD and accompanist and venue hire, and also subsidises the cost of the more expensive concerts in prestigious venues with orchestras.
