Kevin Gill is one of BFCSs two regular accompanists (the other being Darren Hogg). In addition to his participation in BFCS performances in 2006, including the tour to Slovenia, ArtsFest and the annual Christmas charity concert, Kevin will be playing a key role in all of the BFCS concerts in 2007. Born and raised in Northallerton, he moved to Birmingham in 1980 to train at Birmingham School of Music (now Conservatoire). After graduating, Kevin gained the FRCO Diploma and has since pursued a career as a freelance teacher, performer and accompanist. He has been Organist and Choirmaster of St James the Great in Shirley, Solihull, since 1987.Kevin also teaches at Birmingham School of Speech and Drama and runs his own private teaching practice. In addition to this he is accompanist for Birmingham Festival Choral Society and does accompanying work for various choirs and choral societies including CBSC. Recent engagements include venues Birmingham Symphony Hall and Adrian Boult Hall, work for BBC, Birmingham Repertory Theatre and at Hagley Hall. Kevin also gives organ recitals in and around the Birmingham area,and piano duet recitals with local musician Andrew Fletcher.
